We had our friends, Tom and Franny, over for a cook out before they moved away, and we got to chatting about budget friendly meals.  Tom had such good things to say about one dish of Franny’s, in particular: Cabbage and Egg Noodles.  He raved about it’s simplicity, and it’s tastiness.  I asked for the recipe to try on my crew, and I have to agree with Tom: it is simple, so good, and cheap!

Cabbage and Egg Noodles:

1 head of caggage, sliced in to small strips

1 bag of egg noodles

several Tbsp of butter

salt

Parmesan cheese (optional) 

Boil water and cook egg noodles according to package directions.  Meanwhile, fry the sliced cabbage in plenty of melted butter until it is all well browned.  Salt it according to your taste.  Drain the noodles, and toss the cabbage in.  Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
